Useful information about emigrating to New Zealand...

Moving to New Zealand can be divided into five steps.

As a Student… A Student Visa is required to study in New Zealand. To be eligible you need at least the following:
  • Evidence of a place at an approved educational institute
  • You can show you have sufficient money to live on as you study
  • A return air ticket to your country (or proof you can afford one)

In addition, if you are under 18 years old:

  • A guarantee in writing that suitable accommodation is available while studying in New Zealand

As a Worker… There are two main types of visa available if you want to move to New Zealand for work, but many other visas also allow work, especially through the Skilled Residence Pathways. Is an Accredited Employer Work Visa for you? It might, if you have:

  • A fulltime job offer, and
  • The necessary skills and experience to work in your occupation.
